  • Sue Kanter, MS, MSPT

Sue’s career began as a master's trained exercise physiologist working in cardiac rehab and research at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. It was there that she developed a lifelong love for knowledge, and was influenced by the powerful impact exercise and movement have on so many of our body systems. After learning more about what physical therapists do, Sue was inspired to return for her degree in Physical Therapy.

Sue’s professional experiences have included working as a physical therapist and adjunct faculty for the University of Illinois Hospitals in Chicago, and Program in Physical Therapy, respectively. Sue was also a teaching assistant at Northwestern University in Chicago in the Program in Physical Therapy.

Sue has worked in many settings including inpatient and outpatient hospital departments, private practice, and home health. Her interests have been primarily in neuromusculoskeletal care, which fosters a whole person approach to both acute and persistent pain and injury management. She enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions with a special interest in spine and lower extremity care.

Sue has pursued additional training in medical therapeutic yoga for multiple conditions, cancer rehab, foot and ankle care, and modern pain science. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association for many years and have attended many professional conferences, including our national organization conferences and several premier pain science conferences.
